Earlier this April, I checked a book out of a digital library only to return it a few minutes later. I hadn’t read the description carefully and it turned out to be a “romance” novel that was riddled with historical inaccuracies. The one that seized my attention was the mention of potatoes in Ireland in a setting that was supposed to be in the 1000s. Um…
